Museums

  • There is a museum next to the Old Bridge where you can find out about the history of the bridge. You can watch video with detailed information about the rebuilding of the bridge. On the top of the museum, there is great panoramic view. The entrance fee is 5KM or 2.5 euro.
  • Mostar also houses the History Museum of Herzegovina, which is opened from 8am till 4pm and is closed on Monday.
  • Muslibegovic House is a national monument of Bosnia-Herzegovina and an architectural masterpiece of the Ottoman period. The 300-year-old building is one of the most beautiful houses from the Ottoman period. The house preserves authentic monumental structure, items and documents providing an insight into the life of a wealthy family from the time. In addition to the museum exhibition, visitors are invited to take traditional beverages or cookies or spend a night in this authentic surrounding. It is open for visitors from the 15th of April until the 15th of October from 10am to 6pm. You will be guided by friendly people. The museum is located near Karadjoz-Bey mosque and has signs leading you to it.
  • There is another Ottoman House open for visitors. It is called Biscevica and located on Biscevica Street. You can only see a few rooms upstairs and the entrance fee is 4KM. Muslibegovic is more recommended.
  • The Karadjoz-Bey Mosque is one of the major mosques in Mostar and probably one of the most beautiful ones. It is located near the Old Town and was built in 1557. The entrance fee is 3KM and if you want to climb the minaret where you have stunning panoramic view over Mostar, you have to pay 5KM. Next to the Karadjoz-Bey Mosque is a cemetery. When Mostar was surrounded by troops, and all Muslim cemeteries were unreachable, this little park was turned into a cemetery in 1993.
  • Another mosque opened for visitors is the Koski Mehmet Pasha Mosque in the Old Town. It is a small but pretty one built in 1618. The fees are the same as for the Karadjoz-Bey Mosque, 3KM to go in and 5KM to go in and climb the minaret, again with a spectacular view
